Fun Ways Women can Self-Nurture and be Soulful.
Self-discovery can be fun and fascinating—while still nurturing our emotions and be soulful with our selfcare. I want to share with you some of my favorite ways to promote joy as we are now forgetting about those new years resolutions. Lets tap into our serenity and think out of the box!
Exercise is often a popular item on everyone’s resolution list. But lets think about all the other ways we can enjoy movement. I love dancing and because i do, i use that as my form of movement that will bring me joy and i always look forward to doing it. Think about what you would love to do and add that as your form of movement. It may he pole dancing, yoga, swimming or gardening. Add them to your weekly routine.
If you do not have movement you love, think about what activities you enjoyed as a younger person. I loved swimming and i do it as often as i can, and make it fun each time i go into the water. It helps me love and appreciate my body, and keep me a little fit.
Organizing and decluttering are great tools for self-care because when I declutter my surroundings, it helps to declutter my mind.
I often speak to people who want to organize and declutter, but they tell me that it feels overwhelming and that they don’t know where to start. My advice is to pick one room, one area or even drawer at a time. Don’t stop or move on to another area until that area is completed. Throw things away or put them where they belong without lingering. This rule has worked for me since I can easily get distracted when I’m moving from place to place.
Decide the method of organization that works for you. It could be by size, color, purpose, most and least used or all of the above. Organization is also a great excuse to find pretty containers and it isn’t necessary to spend a lot of money. Don’t forget creativity as an important form of self-care and relaxation. There are many forms of creativity, including but not limited to visual arts, music and dance. Some ideas are to garden, decorate, craft, create or expand an existing hobby or you can also invite someone to try a new hobby with you. . If you are already a creative person, try something totally mindless and fun without the pressure of having a “perfect” finished product.
Try something you have not tried before and remember it's not about perfection but the joy of relaxing and enjoying the process.
Start simple make a beaded necklace or paint a picture. Like this paint by number art that's sure to get you relaxed in no time. Do some paper craft or try embroidery. Tap into your soulfulness and just enjoy the moment and not think about the day behind or ahead.
Self-care is anything you want it to be. Think outside the box. Throw out the rule book. Do what makes you happy!
